Medieval Clothing

Medieval garments are mercifully simplistic in shape.  This means they're very easy to make - in theory!

Undergarments are the same shape as outerwear, but they are nearly always linen.  Outerwear can be linen or wool fabric, depending on the season - and whether you've just come across a colour or pattern you couldn't resist!

In total, a kyrtle (tunic) takes me around 16 hours to make and finish.  That includes two fittings to ensure that the length and shape is correct for the wearer.

I sew everything by hand which ensures authenticity where it's needed!

I'm happy to make garments for you, or teach you how to make them yourself.

Pricing and timescales

When making whole garments such as kyrtles (tunics) or similar, I started out charging £10 per hour.  This keeps things easy to calculate!

As I've made more clothing and gained more experience, I've kept the pricing per garment the same - £160 - as  I feel this allows for improvements in technique as well as being able to finish garments in a little less time.

All I need is your chosen fabric and your measurements, and two appointments booked with you for fittings.

I'd like a kyrtle (or other garment)!
